FACT: Wham! wrote their hit song Club Tropicana in a basement flat in Peckham.
FACT: Beatles manager Brian Epstein had a relative who ran a firm called Weldons of Peckham in Rye Lane, whom he permitted to make the official Beatles sweater.
FACT: Austin’s of Peckham Rye was one of the largest antique and second-hand dealers in Europe. Austin’s Court now occupies the site.
FACT: Some scenes from the popular television series On the Buses were filmed at Nunhead bus garage, later demolished in 1999
